Instumentalists Serving in Worship at SCBC

SCBC’s Churchestra is comprised of volunteer instrumentalists.  Members include Adults and High School students.  The Churchestra performs once each quarter during our “Celebration Sundays” and helps facilitate worship. Stylistically, we play modern praise and worship as well as arrangements of traditional hymns and spiritual songs from church history.  Our current membership is comprised of strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion and keyboards. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings the two weeks before each Celebration Sunday.  We help each other with fingerings, rhythm, etc., and have a great time serving our Lord Jesus Christ with music. If you play an instrument and are interested in joining the Churchestra, Pastor Mitch Camp, our Minister of Music and Worship, would love to speak with you.  Pastor Camp can be reached at (410) 381-1877 or music@scbc-md.org

SCBC’s Praise Band performs weekly during our Sunday morning worship service at 10:30 am.  Stylistically, the band plays modern Praise and Worship music as well as the Traditional Hymn and Spiritual Songs of our church history.  The band rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 8:00 to 9:00 pm.  Some members choose to attend or serve in Sunday School and play in the opposite Worship Service.  Others choose to play in both Worship Services.

Each week on Wednesday night members receive the music for the upcoming week's worship service and rehearse it for an hourThen on Sunday morningwe're back for one more quick run through - then perform it.  That's real excitement!  The Praise Band is open to all adult instrumentalists who are up to a musical challenge.  Please email Pastor Mitch at: music@scbc-md.org or call him at (410) 381-1877 if you’re interested in serving or would like to get more information.
