Be diligent to ´╗┐present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling ´╗┐the word of truth."  2nd Timothy 2:15 (NASB)

TEACHER HELPS:
Teachers here are some helps that you might find useful in preparing lessons and in your personal Bible Studies.  If you are looking for some excellent Bible Study software to help you in your preparation and your own study times I would recommend looking at Logos Bible Software or at QuickVerse.  Both have multiple packages available depending on the study material you are looking for and how much you are willing to invest in the material.  QuickVerse also has Bible study software for your PDA.  Another very good site for Bible software for your PDA is Olive Tree.   I am not a salesman, nor do I get any compensation from these software sites but they are ones that I have found to be very usefull in my own study.  You can preview their software at the links below.  Should you have any questions, please contact me.  Pastor Terry.

BOOKS I WOULD RECOMMEND:

Being a Sunday School teacher, in any age group, is a very important assignment.  It can also be a very draining task if the teacher does not maintain their own spiritual health by spending time in personal growth and development.  While there are many authors out there here are some that I would highly recommend.  I have several books from each of these authors and have found them challenging and uplifting through difficult periods of life.  My favorite authors are Max Lucado, John MacArthur; Charles Swindoll and Billy Graham.  One series I would highly recommend by Charles Swindoll is his "Great Lives from God's Word" set.  This series contains character studies of Paul, David, Esther, Job, Joseph; Moses and Elijah.  I would also recommend reading biographies of men whom God used to shape their generation; men like Dwight L. Moody; Charles Spurgeon; Martin Luther and Billy Graham.  These works will provide inspiration as you look at the struggles of these men and how God provided for them and used them to make a difference in their world.

Books on Teaching:

Here are some books that I would recommend for teachers, especially those who work with adults, to encourage them in their ministry.
1. Disciple Making Teachers by Josh Hunt
2. You Can Double Your Class in Two Years or Less by Josh Hunt
3. The Six Core Values of Sunday School by Allan Taylor
4. Revitalizing The Sunday Morning Dinosaur by Kem Hemphill
5. Becoming a Contagious Christian

Apologetics:

Here are a few books that I would recommend that every teacher have that will help answer some of the tough questions that they may be asked.
1. The New Evidence that Demands a Verdict by Josh McDowell
2. When Critics Ask: A Popular Handbook on Bible Difficulties by Norman Geisler & Thomas Howe
3. Evidence for Christianity by Josh McDowell
